The Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee has warned football clubs that they will not receive any further disbursements of cash if they fail to account for how they have spent the two tranches they have received so far.
The Committee, chaired by retired judge Aaron Ringera, has released funds to the Premier League (men and women) and National Super League clubs since it was appointed by Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed in November 2021.
The funds, disbursed courtesy of the Sports Fund, are intended to support teams for security, ambulances, hire of match venues and transport, among other logistical costs.
“You are required to provide an accountability report on the use of the funds so far submitted to your clubs,” Ringera said in a statement to clubs.
“Any other future disbursement of logistical support from The Caretaker Committee will be based on your submission the accountability reports by February 15th 2022.”
The Committee, last week, issued a directive that all clubs must comply with the Sports Act 2013 by 24th February for them to be eligible to participate in the forthcoming elections.
