Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone says Serie A clubs deserve equal treatment.

The comment is coming on the heels of postponement of some of the league games due to the deadly CONVID-19, a coronavirus that has left over ten people dead in the country.

Some games were postponed last week as a result of the deadly virus as well. Fiorentina VS Udinese clash was part of the games canceled. The CEO’s grouse could be because the match was postponed 90 minutes to kick off after the squad had traveled to Udine.

It could be recalled that Inter Milan had to play the return leg of their Europa League game against Lodogorets behind closed doors, which was part of the preventive measures taken to prevent the spread of the virus, which emanated from Wuhan, China.

Speaking to Radio 24, Barone, who wants the same rules for everyone, said the situation around the Serie A calendar must be resolved immediately.

While noting that in such an emergency, the healths of the people is paramount, he said the board of directors has continued to ask for equal rules for everyone, both on and off the pitch.

The CEO, who also noted that is is the responsibility of the clubs to have a peaceful atmosphere in the championship, Barone said he requested a meeting before Wednesday to address the anomalies he pointed out.

He pointed that his club follows and respects the rules, but the Italian football federation is not transmitting abroad unity and credibility at a time the league is being showcased to foreign investors.

Meanwhile, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has said he can’t rule anything out as the affected countries are still containing the coronavirus. The FIFA boss hinted that the upcoming international friendlies at the end of March could be affected.
