With 22 goals to his name so far this season and only three rounds of play before the season comes to a close, Kariobangi Sharks’ Erick Kapaito has one hand on the golden boot honours for the season.
Elvis Rupia of AFC Leopards is chasing Kapaito with 16 goals and will need to score a minimum of two goals for each of the remaining matches and hope that the leader will shoot blanks until the season ends.
The former FC Talanta forward started the season on a high note, scoring two hat-tricks, and has led the goal scorers’ chart for most of the season.
With matches against struggling Nzoia Sugar, Bidco United, and Sofapaka coming up, 25-year-old Kapaito, who won the same gong in the 2018 season with 16 goals, can surely start dreaming of winning the award for the second time in his career.
Here is the too five list:
1. Erick Kapaito (Kariobangi Sharks) – 22 2. Elvis Rupia (AFC Leopards) -16
3. Lawrence Juma (Sofapaka) – 14
4. William Wadri (Bandari) – 13
5. Derrick Otanga (KCB) – 12
