Leaders Tusker missed the perfect chance to maintain their three-point lead atop the Football Kenya Premier League table after they played out a barren draw with Nzoia Sugar on Wednesday.
The Brewers were determined and had their fare chances but they could not break a stubborn Nzoia at Sudi Stadium.
Coach Robert Matano hoped that maintaining the same starting XI that Kakamega Homeboyz last time out would do the job but the resilient Sugar Millers had other ideas as they shut out their lines to frustrate the league leaders.
It leaves the league open until the final day of action this weekend with both Tusker and KCB hoping to have the final laugh and carry the honours, but the Brewers have an advantage as a draw against Bidco United will see them lift the trophy they last won in 2008.
Tusker have 62 points from 31 matches, three ahead of KCB who also dropped vital points following a 1-1 draw with AFC Leopards.
KCB, on their part, must win against Nairobi City Stars on Sunday and hope Tusker lose their match for the Bankers to be crowned champions.
