Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso has said that his team doesn’t deserve to leave Parma without a point.
Parma had during the reverse fixture defeated the Pertonopei with the same scoreline. They are the only club that has taken maximum points from Napoli this season so far.
Gattuso’s complaint was on Dejan Kulusevski fell in the box. The player was adjudged to have been felled by Koulibally, but the former Italian midfielder claimed that he did so by himself,’ and Alex Meret didn’t need to save the ball.
Napoli has only recorded just one win from their last four games, as they are currently behind Milan-that recorded a 2-1 win over Sassuolo.
Although Napoli has already qualified fr the Europa League, Gattuso, in an interview with DAZN, admitted that the Pertonopei is trying to deal with pressure in their half.
He said his side were below par in the first half, but were better in the second half, adding that the second penalty needs to be watched again.
While also noting that the team didn’t have a proper striker on the pitch, Gatusso said whoever played there sacrificed themselves.
He added that Parma punished his lads despite having a larger share of the ball as they play the high pressing game whenever they come into their half.
Expressing his disappointment at the manner of the defeat, the former AC Milan boss said referee Antonio Giua out not have awarded Kulusevski a penalty. He said the team had not been lucky with referees adding that the same referee made the same mistake at Lecce.
According to Gattuso, Kulusevski was already on the ground before being touched. This to him wasn’t a penalty but pointed out that his side could’ve done better.
He also said that the first penalty was a penalty than the second, and he didn’t remember Parma having any attempts on goal against his team.
He also lamented that Napoli has been failing to take their chances, and they are getting punished by their opponents as soon as they pass the halfway line.
