English midfielder Jack Grealish has signed a new five-year contract with Aston Villa on Tuesday morning after the start of the new 2020 2021 English Premier League season.

Since the last season, when the villa park side fought relegation and survived, Jack Grealish has been linked with moves away from Villa Park, including a strong link to Manchester United, which did not materialize.

Aston Villa made the announcement via their social media handle on Tuesday to confirm that the midfielder will be staying put at the club till 2025.

The 25-year-old made 36 appearances last season as the club retained its top-flight status with Grealish scoring an all-important goal in a 1-1 draw at West Ham being one of his eight goals in the league last season.

The England international, who made his international debut last week against Denmark, stated that the villa park is his home and is delighted to have signed a new deal and thus become a part of the project that the owners want to build.

“The owners have made it very clear to me how ambitious they are and how they want to build Aston Villa. There are exciting times ahead, and I am very glad to be part of it, ” Grealish added.

Grealish made his Aston Villa debut in the 2013/2014 season, having been with the clubside since he was 8 years old.

Villa will start their 2020-2021 English Premier League campaign next Monday against Sheffield United.

However, they will first face Burton on Tuesday evening in the English Carabao Cup away from home.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Chelsea started live to their 2020/2021 English Premier League season with a 3-1 win at Brighton Hove and Albion on Monday night.

The Blues had summer signings Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, on the starting line up.

Frank Lampard’s men started the game brightly with a first-half goal from the spot through Italian midfielder Jorghino after Timo Werner was brought down in the 23rd minute.

The second half saw Brighton level the score as Leandro Trossard’s 20-yard shot got messed up by goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Youngster Reece James produced the goal of the game with a thunderous 25-yard-goal, and Kurt Zouma made it three with a deflected strike.
