Marco Verratti is missing his teammates

Paris Saint Germaine midfielder, Marco Verratti has said he is missing his teammates due to France’s lockdown,

While praising the health workers for the wonderful job they are doing in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic that has crumbled every activity, the Italian said it’s looking like a year since he played at the Parc De Prince.

Some of his teammates have left the French capital and even the country, but Verratti decided to stay in France as it heads towards its fourth week of lockdown aimed at curtailing the spread of the pandemic.

The last time the Italian played in Ligue 1 was the 4-3 win over Bordeaux on 23 February. While lamenting that he has not been able to train and play the game he loves, Veratti said he missed the emotions from the game and fans after a goal or a win.

Veratti also noted that he is missing the game massively because that’s what they are used to daily. Although the midfielder has been keeping in touch with his teammates, he said he missed them a lot as well because they usually spend some time together daily, which has been his usual routine.

While describing each moment with his teammates as special, the former Juventus midfielder revealed that PSG’s fitness coaches had provided a fitness programme which helps him to keep in shape for when there would be the resumption of football action again.

Speaking with PSG.FR, Veratti said he is training more than before because the club is involved in all competitions, and they have to play almost every three days.

He also said the lockdown is making him do more than he used to. He cited an instance that the packed up schedule didn’t give him enough time to train more, and other players couldn’t take care of themselves when there are little problems.

He revealed that the lockdown has, therefore, given him an opportunity to do some strength work and have more quiet time.

So, with a treadmill in his house, the Italian has been practicing some running.
