Ac Milan has expressed interest in signing Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen, who has already held talks with Napoli, a strong contender.
Osimhen, who recently won Lille and African player of the year award in his debut season in France, has been in Naples over a week and had visited Napoli facilities.
He had also met with coach Gennaro Gattuso and President Aurelio De Laurentiis as part of the induction process for the striker to join the club.
The striker had been keeping the Pertonopei waiting as he is taking his time to consider all the options in front of him.
He was reported to be waiting for an offer from Premier League clubs, having turned down the chance to join Arsenal after his success with the Nigerian world cup-winning under 17 team. Offers fro the Premier League does not appear to be materializing.
Although his agent had denied that the young striker is waiting for offers from the Premier League, Football Italia reported that Milan is now in the race for his signature.
The Rossoneri is believed to be preparing their proposal for Lille and the 21-year-old forward. But it remains unknown if the club will be able to pay the 70 Million Euros value placed on the striker, which Napoli is believed to be ready to pay.
With Champions League football eluding Napoli season, it might be the reason Osihmen is taking his time waiting for the likes of Tottenham that had one time expressed interest.
With Milan being cash-strapped, the club is reportedly planning to offer at least €50m to Lille that is willing to quickly cash on the talent. With the value less than what the Lique side wanted, AC Milan could be adding some players to lower the operation cost.
Many Italian experts have also rejected that Inter Milan was also interested in the forward, saying there was a miscommunication because the interest was from AC Milan.
Osimhen, on his debut season in France after moving from Charleroi, scored 13 goals in 27 Ligue 1 games this season and 18 in 38 competitive matches for Lille.
