Nicolas Pallois maintains fitness level as COVID-19 continues wreaking havoc

FC Nantes defender, Nicolas Pallois is not worried about his level of fitness despite being forced to rest as the world battle the challenge of the coronavirus epidemic.

Pallois, who is trying to keep fit in case the epidemic is over, has lauded those on the front line. Many health care workers have been overworking to keep patients alive from the virus that has killed over 15000 people globally and has infected almost a half million.

The giant defender and other athletes have been forced to remain indoors to curtail the spread of the deadly virus. Confirmed to his home town due to the coronavirus epidemic, the 32-year-old Nantes defender noted that it is very important to follow medical instructions and maintain social distance in order not to become a victim.

Italy is currently the epicentre with over 4000 deaths. Spain might take over from Italy as the European country is about to surpass Italy’s casualty rate.

Speaking on the club’s official website on Thursday, the defender said no one knows when athletes will return to training, and the games will resume, but it is up to athletes to prepare for resumption.

While not raiding unnecessary alarm despite a challenging health situation in the country, Pallois said he and his teammates were being careful because anything can come up tomorrow.

Lauding the health care workers for their bravery and efforts, Pallois said athletes are lucky to be able to make a living from their passion, adding that the passion of the health care workers was to save lives despite the massive workload on their hands.

He, therefore, called on everyone to respect the lockdown orders by ensuring quarantine and isolation as instructed.
