PSG reaches the advance stage on new contract talks with Mbappe

Indications have shown that Ligue 1 giant Paris Saint-Germain has reached an advanced level with Kylian Mbappe over a new deal.

Both parties have been in constant conversation to commit the 22-year-old star striker to commit his future to the club. His current deal will expire in June 2022.

Mbappe’s fellow strike partner, Neymar, wants the French star to stay with the club, having committed his future to the club by expressing the intention to stay. It is rumoured that Neymar is waiting for Mbappe to agree to the new deal before officially signing the dotted lines.

The stock of Mbappé is rising by the day after getting praises from pundits for his heroic performance against Barcelona in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout stage where he scored a hat-trick against Barcelona last Tuesday.

Despite their home defeat against Monaco on Sunday night, PSG management is not looking at the team’s current form but to ensure that number 7 extends his stay at the club.

Recently, it had been reported that discussions are ongoing between both parties, and progress has been made. But an agreement is yet to be reached.

According to French sports media, Mbappé has agreed to a contract extension in principle, which is a relief for the club.

Meanwhile, his idea. But the 22-year-old French striker has set some conditions to agree to the new deal. He wants to be on the same pay package as Neymar, which amounts to 3.06 million Euros gross monthly.

He also wants to decide when he will leave the club as he already has a sight on Real Madrid, which he said will be a dream to play for. That will be a clause in his contract which he can activate whenever he wishes to in case foreign clubs ask her for his service.

However, this kind of clause is prohibited in France. The French striker wants this in order not to feel stuck at PSG for several more years.

It is now left for both parties to sort out the modality to agreeing to a new deal.
