Senegal sink Kenya in Deaflympics Ball Games qualifiers opening match

Seck Harona scored twice as Senegal beat 10-man Kenya 3-1 in their opening Group A match of the inaugural Africa Deaflympics Ball Games Qualifiers at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

Kenya were reduced to 10 men after right back Gasper Asituha was shown a straight red card in the 82nd minute for a reckless challenge.

The hosts had led through captain Bashir Yahye’s 20th minute finish before Harona drew Senegal level nine minutes later.

Harona was then fouled in the box on the stroke of halftime, Marro Khadim converting the resultant penalty before Haruna capped his impressive performance with his second goal of the tournament in the second half.

Kenya will next play Mali on Wednesday.

Action continues Sunday with a group B match between Cameroon and Zambia.

Nyayo Stadium will host a double header for Group C and D, Somaliland taking on Egypt and Zanzibar playing Ghana.
