Eugene Asike powered home a bouncing header at the death to help Tusker edge defending champions Gor Mahia 2-1 in a FKF Premier League match played at the Ruaraka Stadium on Thursday.
The brewers had gone behind courtesy of a Titto Okello goal on the 14th minute but Robert Matano’s charges put on a spirited performance in the second half to turn around the game in their favour.
Boniface Muchiri equalised with a free-kick 10 minutes into the second half and Asike applied the gloss on the win, heading home in the 90th minute from Sammy Meja’s corner.
The win takes Tusker four points ahead of KCB who they face on Sunday while Gor drop 11 points behind the leaders, putting their title defense in hot water.
