FKF Premier League leaders Tusker demonstrated champions’ credentials as they came back from two goals down to salvage a point against KCB in a league match on Sunday.
Two fatal mistakes had left the brewers chasing the match after they conceded two goals goals but they were resilient enough to level matters and settle for a 2-2 draw at the Thika Sub-County Stadium.
Derrick Otanga punished Tusker for their mistakes at the back to score a brace for the bankers in the opening half, but the leaders returned from the break with a solid performance inspired by Humphrey Mieno, who scored and assisted another goal for Robert Matano’s Tusker.
Mieno drew his side level in the 71st minute before laying a beautiful assist to Macharia who secured the point six minutes from time.
The result maintains the status quo remains with Tusker four-points ahead of KCB who have a game in hand.
Tusker’s quest to turn a point into three bore no fruit as KCB repulsed every effort and pressure, seeing off the game to earn the valuable draw.
