Coaches Association President, Renzo Ulivieri, has said that the governing body of the top league is not telling the truth about the return of game after the lockdown.

Speaking to Lady Radio, Ulivieri noted that the Italian Government is yet to set a date.

After overcoming the resurgent in deaths that overwhelmed the health officials that left over 20,000 people dead, Italy has reached the peak, and the government is planning to reduce restriction.

What the government plan now is to move into Phase Two of the guidelines, which the Prime Minister has said begins from May 4. However, professional teams will be allowed to train from May 18.

Bundesliga is set to start May 9, while clubs in England have been given the all-clear to begin individual training. In Spain, there are four measures that the clubs and each player must go through before training and games can resume.

The Serie A clubs have been furious about the latest development as they insisted that the Italian government had promised to allow training to resume alongside individual sports from May 4.

Speaking further, the representative of coaches in the Italian Serie A said that the Sports Minister, Vincenzo Spadafora can’t set a date without getting the support of the coaches.

According to him, during their meeting, the Minister never mentioned any date, adding that this means that Lega Serie A is not telling the truth, as they have been promised nothing.

Speaking further, he said that the government pointed out that the medical guidelines presented by the FIGC is insufficient, so there a need for adjustment.

UEFA had yesterday tell all its members to agree on whether they will complete their respective season by May 25 to know the next line of action.

With time is running on Serie A’s actions to resume, the clubs have been informed that training can start on May 18. The other option is to abandon the season altogether.

Speaking on the May 18 date, Ulivieri said that the clubs have always been prepared, but everyone must be protected.

He further revealed that he had told players and other stakeholders that no one should behave as if nothing had happened, and the idea that the game of football is prioritized over the general population should be blocked.
