The Italian Serie will be entering week eight, and many goals have been scored from the seven weeks of action experienced so far in the top flight.

On top of the log is AC Milan, which appeared to continue from where they stopped last season. The Rossonerri tops the log with 17 points.

They are closely followed by Sassuolo with 15 points, while Napoli and Roma occupy the remain top-four spot.

The defending champions, Juventus, is still out of the top four garnering 13 points alongside high-scoring Atalanta that is 6th.

Last season’s runners up, Inter Milan, is 7th with 12 points.

This looks to be otherwise of the usual thing that has been in the division in the last nine years.

The usual top four contenders are outside the spots for now. Not to worry, the season just started. Despite this, some former players have been predicting the likely winners of the league this time around.

Speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Former Juventus player Simone Padoin says Juventus and Inter remain favourites to win the Scudetto.

The nine times consecutive winners will be facing Cagliari this weekend to maintain the push into the top four, at least for now, as they leapfrog AC Milan with four points on the log.

The retired midfielder, who had stints with both clubs, said Juve already has created a culture to win everything, especially the Serie A.

On his part, former AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati rooted for the Rossoneri and Napoli.

He is speaking ahead of their big clash on Sunday night. Abbiati, a three Scudetto winner with Milan, believes both clubs are title contenders this season.

Milan travels to the San Paolo leading the hosts with three points on the log after seven games.

The former shot-stopper, who also won Coppa Italia and a Champions League trophy with the club, said the Diavolo must remain focused and not be complacent even if they beat Gennaro Gattuso’s men.
