Narok County Governor Samuel Tunai has said his administration is committed to nurturing sports talents among the youth.

Tunai made the remarks when he graced the second edition of Governor Tunai Premier Cup finals at William Ole Ntimama Stadium over the weekend.

“My vision is that Narok is placed among the counties that have great sports talents which will uplift the lives of the sportsmen and women, who will, in turn, be role models to the upcoming generations,” said Tunai.

He added that during the next edition of the tournament, scheduled for early next year, there will be widespread scouting of talents.

“Apart from supporting these teams in our local leagues, we are also planning to get the best talents in the tournament who will form a strong and formidable team that I will sponsor up to the top flight league,” he said.

The governor also said the county supports these teams by facilitating them to travel to various sports events besides donating uniforms and other relevant support.

“The future of sports lies in the youth and the only way to secure our next heroes is through investment in sports infrastructure,” said the county boss.
