Kenya Sevens: Namcos names final Tokyo squad, Amonde to be skipper

Kenya’s Tokyo-bound Sevens Rugby team coach Innocent ‘Namcos’ Simiyu says he will aim to make it out of a tough pool in the group stages before anything else can cross his mind.

Simiyu said this when he named his final squad for the Olympic Games which will be captained by veteran Andrew Amonde.

Shujaa are in a tough Pool C of the 12-team competition alongside South Africa, USA and Ireland.

Amonde will lead an experienced pack of four, including speedstar Collins Injera who will make their second Olympics stab having been at Rio 2016.

The men’s rugby sevens competition in Tokyo will run between 26th and 28th July.
